Docent docs

Docent is a voice-first in-app guide. Install the SDK, mark your UI, teach it your product, and it walks your users to what they want.

Docent is a voice-first, screen-aware in-app guide. A developer installs an SDK, a mascot named Dot appears in the app, reads the accessibility tree of the page in front of the user, knows the product from a knowledge pack, and walks people to what they want by talking, pointing and navigating.

It guides by default. It performs an action only when the element carries data-guide-allow and the user asked for it in that turn.

  • Quickstart takes an empty Console to a working guide in ten steps.
  • Next.js, React Router and Vite with React carry a full mount for their framework.
  • Markers is the page to read second, because the six attributes are what turn a page Docent can see into a page it can point at.

Reading this with an agent

Every page here is served as raw Markdown at the same path under /llms.mdx, so an assistant can read the quickstart rather than guess at the API:

https://docs.usedocent.com/llms.mdx/docs/0.1/quickstart/content.md

/llms.txt indexes the site and /llms-full.txt is all of it in one file.
